Troopers J. Miller and Ayer, Salt Lake County
“I had the unfortunate opportunity of getting a flat tire on Interstate 15 on Oct. 25th at about 130pm. I was scared and not sure what to do. I got over on the shoulder and turned on my flashers and called 911. I was directed to the Highway Patrol and the dispatch person took my info and said she would get a trooper out ASAP. When Trooper J. Miller got there he came up with a plan to have another Trooper slow traffic down so I could drive slowly off the interstate. We got off to an off ramp with more room and Trooper Ayer kindly changed my flat tire. I was not expecting this…I am so grateful to these two troopers. I wanted to make sure they got some praise for being so kind and caring to people who are not really car savvy. If there is a way for you to give these two any type of recognition it would make me very happy. I felt like they went way above what they needed to do to help us. They gave us some good tips if anything happens in the future out on the highway. I just wanted to tell you how much i appreciated what these two troopers did for us. Thanks for listening.” – L. Lien

Trooper Penman, Beaver County
“On 5 Oct 21 Trooper A. Penman stopped and cited me for a moving violation in Beaver County. Trooper A. Penman was professional and courteous. I’m from Florida and was on my way to SLC to pay my respects to a former supervisor who passed. I enjoyed your beautiful state and will be more mindful of my driving habits.” – R. Browne

Trooper Matthews, Summit County
“Just want to send a huge shout-out to Trooper Steven Matthews. My family and I were traveling through Summit County last night with our trailer and our Expedition had a flat. He quickly came to our aid and kept my family safe while he and I worked together to fix the flat. He offered his jack which we found no longer worked. My jenky car equipment got us through it, but only with Trooper Matthews help.” – C. Nash

Trooper Karl, State Capitol
“We would like to pass on our praises of both your sergeant and Trooper Shane Karl who both were so pleasant and informative to us when we visited your capitol building on Saturday October 2. We arrived just before 4 pm and the Sergeant was extremely pleasant and allowed us to come in as we had never been there before. We met Trooper Shane Karl who showed us around as well as gave us a history of the building. Both men were extremely professional but friendly as well and both went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Much kudos to your department and especially to these two men. We are just sorry we did not note the Sergeant’s name. Thanks again.” – C and B Stiebel
