Salt Lake County

“Today on my way to work my tire exploded and I was left on I-15 in the middle of rush hour to change my tire. I was getting pretty nervous because even though I was off the road as much as I could get, traffic was passing really fast. Then I looked up and one of your Troopers had pulled over. He came and helped me change my tire and traffic slowed in that lane. I didn’t catch his name but I wanted to say how grateful I was and how proud I am to be from Utah where we have such a great group of Troopers. I know you probably don’t get a lot of thank yous but thank you so much for your assistance today. I was southbound on I-15 just before the I-80 westbound exit at about 7:30 or so. If you could pass on my gratitude to your Trooper I would be very glad.” – J. McMullin

Trooper Bennett, Salt Lake County

“I was pulled over by Trooper Bennett this morning. During the stop it became clear the VIN for my car was not accurate in the database along with other errors I was unaware of. Though the reason for the stop was speeding, and many of these errors were problematic-even if unintentional-the Trooper was kind, patient and helpful in clarifying the situation. I so appreciate him taking the time to communicate and assist me, while also holding me accountable for the violations in a reasonable fashion. It is not an easy job, and I can imagine burnout and frustration is common. Trooper Bennett embodies the goal of protecting and serving today.” – A. Frost

“I want to thank one of your Trooper who stopped me on 5th of May between 1 and 2am on the highway to Brigham City. I was driving by rental car from Salt Lake City airport. I do not know even the name of this very kind man that explained to me a few things and thanks to him I’ve found my hotel easily. My navigation didn’t show this quite new hotel, so direction given, to take exit 363 and find my hotel next to Love’s Travel Stop, saved me time and stress I would spend searching the hotel at night. Please forward this message to him. Wish you all the best and less drivers like me that exceed speed limit.” – K.
