Trooper Whitney, Salt Lake County

“I wanted to take a moment and express my immense gratitude for the friendly and very helpful service provided by Trooper Whitney. My wife was on her way to the airport this morning when she had a flat tire that left her disabled at I-15 and Bangerter Hwy. I am a Police Officer of 25 years and was dressing out for Duty when my wife called in a panic. I knew I wouldn’t have time to get to her, fix the flat and get her to the airport in time, so I suggested she call UHP for assistance. I have always had confidence in our professional service and knew she would be given aid. However, the help she received went above and beyond as Trooper Whitney not only helped her get the tire changed out, but upon seeing the delay in time at the cost of her making her flight, he assisted her in finding a safe parking location in the area and transported her to the airport where she was able to get checked in and board her plane. In talking with you on the phone it sounds like Trooper Whitney is the kind of Officer that provides this type of service on a regular basis. We are fortunate to have this type of person in our Profession and need more like him. Please extend my gratitude.” – T. Leavy

Trooper Tew, Salt Lake County

“Hello, Last night, my 16 year-old daughter was in an accident on I-15 N. Luckily no one was hurt. Trooper Geri Tew responded to the scene, and as a first hand witness, I saw the compassion, concern, and genuine kindness that Trooper Tew showed not only myself, but more importantly, my daughter who was scared, shaking, and crying much of the time. Trooper Tew articulated to my daughter the things that she did right even in an adverse situation. I would just like to thank Trooper Tew for her assistance and “motherly” handling of a difficult situation. She is a credit to her Troop and the Utah Highway Patrol as a whole. Thank you.” – A. Generazo

Trooper Riches, Tooele County

“To whom it may concern, I wanted to reach out regarding the interaction I had today (10/13/2019) with UHP Trooper William Riches (Tooele County). He was extremely courteous and professional during our interaction. Often times the work and daily interactions of police officers goes unnoticed, and wanted to let you know that it didn’t today.” – A. Orr

“Our grandson & family car went missing 09/26/2019. Trooper Tyler Johnson, Vernal, Division #5, found car that evening & immediately notified us. He assisted tow truck drivers until car was secured & followed up the next day, his day off. We can not thank Trooper Johnson enough!” – R. Doering

Trooper Cosby, Carbon County

“I’m not sure if this is the right place to submit this message but I needed to say it. I wanted to say thank you to Trooper Jason Cosby. He pulled me over for speeding and I certainly deserved the ticket. I don’t know where my mind was or why I thought one or two minutes would make that much of a difference reaching my destination. He was very polite and through the course of the conversation, he asked questions like, was I in a hurry, what was the relationship to the child in the back seat, have I been pulled over in the last 6 months, then gathered my pertinent information to return to his parol vehicle. He came back and told me that everything checked out and he was giving me a warning. I’m not thanking him for giving me a warning although that was a huge relief, I’m thanking him for the reminder of the precious cargo – my great-granddaughter and how lucky she was to spend time with me. He helped me refocus on what was really important.” – D. Thornton

Trooper Myer, Salt Lake County

“My daughter got a flat tire coming down I-15, the Utah county side point of the mountain last night. She was scared given it was getting dark and the flat was on the driver side. Before I could get there to change her tire, a wonderful UHP (324, wish we had gotten his name!) pulled up and had it changed in a matter of minutes and both pulled away as I was coming up behind them. He has no idea how much this meant to both of us!! I am DEEPLY grateful as I am a single mom who tries to do it all myself but was nervous given the circumstances. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!”-J. Bingham

Trooper Hintze, Washington County

“Hey! I just wanted to let you guys know. I had a SUPER POSITIVE experience with Trooper Grant Hinzte (Southern UT) last night as I was leaving work. Incredibly fair and straight forward. I had a tail light tint(from previous owner) that was too dark. It was, in all honesty, a pleasant experience being pulled over and given the chance to fix the issue (tint has been removed since). If I were to get pulled over again.. definitely hope it is Grant.” –  J. Laughlin

Trooper Blair, Wasatch County

“On 10/03/2019 I pulled over for speeding on SR-40 at 8:22 a.m. And yes I was speeding, but that’s not why I’m writing this email. I know the men and woman of the Utah Highway Patrol work very hard. I wanted to let you know I was very impressed with the professional manner in which the officer conducted himself. I can tell by his training and attitude he will have a stellar career with UHP. I hope you pass this message on to the Trooper and his superiors. Thank you for your service, and keep up the good work.” – L. Kuehn
